With a maximum size of approximately 2.5 inches, these tetras add both visual appeal and lively movement to your aquatic display. Embrace the beauty of the White Tetra and create a captivating underwater community in your freshwater aquarium.

  • Tank Setup: Provide a well-aerated aquarium with plenty of open swimming space. White Tetras enjoy densely planted areas for shelter and exploration, so include live or artificial plants in the setup.
  • Water Parameters: Maintain stable water conditions with a temperature range of 72-78°F (22-26°C) and a pH level between 6.5-7.5. Keep ammonia and nitrite levels at zero and ensure proper filtration to keep the water clean and oxygenated.
  • Tank Mates: White Tetras are peaceful schooling fish that thrive in groups of six or more. They coexist well with other peaceful community species such as tetras, rasboras, danios, and small catfish.
  • Feeding: Offer a varied diet consisting of high-quality flake or pellet food supplemented with live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, or daphnia. Feed small amounts multiple times a day to prevent overfeeding and maintain water quality.
  • Behavior: White Tetras are active swimmers and exhibit schooling behavior, especially when kept in groups. They are generally peaceful but may nip at the fins of long-finned tank mates if overcrowded or stressed.
  • Water Quality: Perform regular water changes of 20-30% every 1-2 weeks to maintain water quality and remove waste buildup. Test the water parameters regularly to ensure they remain within the recommended range.
